The National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) is open to US-style demolition of unfinished properties which it believes have no value.
The demolition of some sites to return them to strict agriculture use is being considered by the new agency, according to the Irish Independent.
Meanwhile, a number of the financial institutions transferring loans to NAMA are expected to receive notification today of the discounts set to be applied to those loans.
The institutions being notified today are Bank of Ireland, Irish Nationwide Building Society and EBS.
Last week, the Irish Times reported that lenders are likely to be “shocked” at the size of the discount demanded by NAMA on the loans they are transferring.
