European Insurance Forum details announced

Details of this year’s European Insurance Forum (EIF2015) were announced at an event in Dublin, attended by Simon Harris, Minister of State with responsibility for International Financial Services.

The two-day international EIF2015 will take place on 14 and 15 May in Croke Park, Dublin and is set to attract more than 200 attendees from around the world, comprising top executives from the political, regulatory and re/insurance sectors.

The conference is being organised by the Dublin International Insurance & Management Association (DIMA), the industry representative body for international insurers, reinsurers and captive management companies based in Ireland.

The event has a line-up of over 40 speakers, including some of the world’s leading experts and commentators in their respective fields, who will examine and discuss the growing global challenges facing the re/insurance and captive industry and in particular its impact on managing risk.

Among the speakers secured for the event is Dr Aubrey de Grey, chief science officer at SENS Research Foundation and Prof Ian Goldin, professor of globalisation and development and director of the Oxford Martin School at the University of Oxford.

“DIMA’s hosting of the EIF is a welcome opportunity to demonstrate Ireland’s strengths and responsiveness to the demands of the fast changing financial services’ landscape,” said Minister Harris.

“The Government is keen to explore how it can best leverage our talent and tech sector to further enhance Ireland’s reputation as the location of choice for the global re/insurance industry.”
