With St Patrick’s Day just around the corner, online auction giant eBay has seen a surge in all things green, with a 250pc rise in St Patrick’s Day listings.
According to eBay figures, shamrock pin sales have racked up a 94pc increase so far this month, while green leather jackets soared into the top 10 most-searched items in the online auction firm’s clothing, shoes and accessory category running up to March.
There has also been a 55pc rise in sales of music from Ireland, while sales of Guinness pint glasses have jumped up 15pc.
“St Patricks Day is such a universally loved celebration so it’s no surprise that there has been a 250pc rise in listings as shoppers are eager to be seen in green. From subtle badges to full on costumes, it seems that everyone wants their very own piece of Paddy,” said eBay’s Patrick Munden.
